Because Proverbs 3:27-28. "Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.  Do not say to your neighbor, 'Come back tomorrow,' when you now have it with you."

I’m at a point in my life where I have time to devote to public service.  I love our country and I believe our district needs leadership that can refocus our efforts and resources on promoting and preserving the high academic standards under which our children will thrive.

  • I’ve been a busy Army wife and mom, a full-time nurse and a full-time faculty member for a university.
  • I have a Master's Degree in Nursing Education that has trained me in pedagogy, the sound assessment and evaluation of student learning,  curriculum development, various learning theories and effective teaching strategies.
  • Over the past two and a half years, I’ve attended most of the Lansing school board meetings.  During that time, I've become more and more informed on our district's strengths, needs, and challenges.
  • I am even-tempered, with lots of follow-through, and I'm not easily intimidated.

During my experience as a Lansing High School parent, I noticed signage promoting student expression of sexual preferences and "Black Lives Matter" (the Marxist organization, not the life-affirming, truthful statement). However, most of the explicit material and communist material was introduced  in my child's English Langauge Arts classes.  Visit my CRT & Explicit Curriculum page where I've uploaded several of those assignments.  Or, for the briefest of overviews, scroll to the bottom of that page to review my Curriculum Challenge ONE and TWO, and you'll find the link to watch my testimony about that experience before the Kansas House Education Committee (beginning at 4:20).

  • We need proven, effective curriculum which focuses almost exclusively on the critical, fundamental knowledge students need to be successful.  Every course objective should speak to a Kansas State Department of Education Standard for that subject area.  These standards can be found here: english language arts (ELA), math, science and social studies.
  • We need to secure safe pedestrian access to school buildings and funds for an inclusive playground where ALL kids can play.
  • We need to protect every minute of face-to-face instructional time and heavily invest in teachers willing to uphold the highest expectations our students.
  • We need to develop a long-term maintenance plan to manage our facilities better.
